I’m looking for a coworker, not just an employee. It’s just me, a lone general contractor with too much work and more calls and emails every day. I have a couple dozen 5-star reviews (and nothing less than 5-stars) because I genuinely like people and like making beautiful things. I need someone to help me keep this great thing going and help more people. The hours are semi-flexible, about 20-40 hours per week depending on scheduled jobs. No weekends or evenings.
I focus mainly on smaller jobs with a split between a couple hours of handyman-type work and larger (for me) projects like bathroom or kitchen remodels, flooring installation, finish carpentry, decks, fences, and more. I do a lot of different things but rarely do any roofing, siding, masonry, concrete, or full additions.
I’m looking for a great attitude first. If it’s just going to be you and me, I’d like to enjoy working together. I keep my rating high by having a client-focused attitude, quality craftsmanship, and a clean/safe workspace. In addition to those traits, comfort with operating power tools and ability to keep up with the physical demands of the job are both crucial. There is a lot of lifting and carrying, a lot of bending and reaching, and the occasional trip up a ladder or into an attic or crawl space.
